the new era of medical care
Your complete solution for modern, paperless healthcare management.
About
tavira
Tavira is a software company dedicated to transforming healthcare in Sri Lanka. We specialize in developing innovative solutions that help private hospitals operate more efficiently and deliver a better patient experience. Our primary mission is to eliminate paper-based systems and fully digitalize healthcare operations — making life easier for doctors and staff while significantly reducing patient waiting times.
We achieve this through our flagship software, ERMS (Electronic Record Management System), which streamlines hospital administration and brings modern efficiency to every level of care.
ERMS
Data Security
At Tavira, we prioritize the privacy, confidentiality, and integrity of patient data. Our ERMS is developed in alignment
with Sri Lanka’s Personal Data Protection Act, No. 9 of 2022, ensuring robust consent management, user rights, and secure data handling.
We follow best practices
under the Computer Crimes Act, No. 24 of 2007, with industry-grade encryption, access controls, and audit trails to protect against unauthorized access and cyber
threats.
Our system supports valid digital transactions in accordance with the Electronic Transactions Act, No. 19 of 2006, enabling secure and legally recognized
e-consents and documentation.
Additionally, we adopt international frameworks such as HIPAA, ISO/IEC 27001, and HL7 FHIR standards to enhance trust, interoperability,
and future scalability. With us, your hospital’s data is always safe, compliant, and future-ready.

How it works
In our ERMS, every interaction, procedure, and service a patient receives during a single visit—whether it’s an outpatient
consultation, inpatient admission, surgery, or diagnostic test—is recorded within a single patient episode.
This episode acts as a
comprehensive record that captures all administrative, clinical, and billing-related events linked to that specific encounter, from
registration to discharge and final billing. It ensures continuity, traceability, and a complete overview of the patient's experience during that visit.
Each episode is securely stored and can be accessed by authorized medical professionals. So, when another doctor needs to understand a patient's previous diagnosis or
treatment, they can search through the patient's past episodes and view the notes, observations, and decisions made by the attending doctor at that time.
- This functionality is strictly limited to doctors to maintain patient confidentiality and uphold medical data security standards.

What are Doctor’s Notes and how do we implement it
Doctor’s Notes is a secure digital feature within the ERMS platform that allows healthcare professionals to record, access, and manage their clinical observations in real-time. Every consultation, diagnosis, treatment plan, or follow-up recommendation can be conveniently documented and stored in one centralized location.
Whether it’s a quick consultation or a long-term treatment plan, Doctor’s Notes helps improve patient outcomes by keeping every detail clear, organized, and accessible.

Role-Based User Access Controls (RBAC) is a core security feature of ERMS that ensures the right people have access to the right information—nothing more, nothing less. Each user in the system is assigned a role (such as doctor, nurse, receptionist, lab technician, or admin), and their access is limited to only the data and functions necessary for their responsibilities. This approach helps hospitals maintain strict data confidentiality, patient safety, and workflow efficiency through:
- Defined Permissions: Doctors can view and update clinical notes, while receptionists may only access appointment schedules—ensuring sensitive information is protected.
- Enhanced Security: By minimizing unnecessary access, the system reduces the risk of data breaches and human error.
- Seamless Workflow Management: Staff can work efficiently with interfaces tailored to their specific roles, avoiding clutter and confusion.
- Audit Trails & Accountability: Every action taken in the system is traceable to a specific user, supporting transparency and compliance with healthcare regulations.
